Dark Spots & Hyperpigmentation — How to Use Your Mask
Dark spots and hyperpigmentation develop when certain areas of the skin produce more melanin than others, often triggered by sun exposure, inflammation, or post-acne scarring. Green LED light therapy has been shown to be effective in helping to even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of these areas over time.
Which Color to Use
- Green — The primary choice for dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Can be applied to the whole face or targeted to specific areas using Expert Mode in the app.
- Green + Red — A particularly effective combination for under-eye darkness. The red light boosts overall skin health while the green targets the pigmentation.
You can also use the Whitening preset in Auto Mode, which pairs Yellow and Green light for a brightening, tone-evening treatment.
Recommended Starting Routine
- 10 minutes per session
- Intensity level 7
- 3–5 times per week
Adjust time and intensity after 2 weeks based on your results.
Tips for Best Results
- Start with a clean, bare face — no serums or creams before your session.
- Apply serums and moisturizers after your session.
- Wear SPF daily. Sun exposure is one of the main drivers of hyperpigmentation, so protecting your skin during the day is essential to seeing lasting improvement.
